Blackstone Minerals hits new nickel discovery at its Tu Cuong prospect in Vietnam
A significant new nickel sulphide mineralisation has been discovered by Blackstone Minerals at its Ta Cuong prospect, part of its Ta Khoa project in Vietnam...the company said that Ta Cuong (and the Taipan Discovery Zone) has the potential to add significantly to its massive sulphide mining inventory.

Global EV sales pushed battery metals deployment in H2 2020
'Global battery capacity deployed in all newly sold passenger EVs combined amounted to 92.5 GWh, 93% more than was deployed in H2-2019...Looking at battery-grade nickel, the market researcher noted that 53,150 tonnes of the metal were deployed in batteries of all newly sold passenger EVs combined in H2-2020, which meant a 69% rise that what was deployed all around the world in the same period the year before.'

Electric car sales forge ahead [in Singapore], powered by tax incentives
Electric car sales have picked up, powered by new tax incentives that kicked in last month. Land Transport Authority Singapore figures show 60 full-electric cars were registered last month - nearly two-thirds of full-year registrations for such vehicles last year.

High Nickel Cells Made Up Over 60% of Passenger EV Battery Capacity Deployed Globally in 2020
'Over 60% of all passenger EV battery capacity deployed globally in 2020 was in the form of high nickel cells, such as NCA or NCM 6- to 8-Series cells. Europe saw the greatest deployment of high nickel cells in 2020 (predominantly NCM 6- and 7-Series), followed by China (dominated by NCM 8-Series) and the U.S. (high-nickel NCA).'
